After 1911 or so the Mother's surname appears on birth reg sites like freebmd...and ancestry. Get someone to look for the births of her children...if you post the names here i am sure someone will look for you. |

If she's your grandmother then her maiden name will be on the birth certificate of either your mother or father (whichever one is her child). |

My grandmother was born in Norfolk,at a place called Lodden which I think is just south of Norwich. How can I find out her maiden name.? I cannot locate the marriage anywhere so cannot use the marriage certificate. She is listed as "Fanny" but also "Hannah" on the info I do have. Am trying to get grandfather's birth certificate but need a few more details first. Is this the best way to go or does anyone know Lodden? |
