Member Since: May 2005 Posts: 94 Send Message	I have louisa dominy as my great grandmother born in Poole dorset 1849/1850 The only thing i know about her is she had a daughter in 1871 in croydon cant find her anywhere after this. wether she died in child birth as the people she was staying with registered Annies birth. I would be most grateful if someone could help me in any way

	There's this birth of Louisa on BVRI but date is wrong: DOMINY, Louisa Christening Gender: Female Christening Date: 9 Oct 1857 Recorded in: Poole, Dorset, England Collection: St James Father: Thomas DOMINY Mother: Ann Source: FHL Film 1239222 Dates: 1855 - 1860 (This is the only one that shows up on Free BMD between 1845-1860)

	So you are looking for Louisa after 1871? If she is your direct ancestor - is Annie your GGM then? (im assuming that date is too early to be a grandmother but maybe not?) Looking at freebmd (which is free for you to search) the name Dominey seems to have a stronghold down in Devon/Dorset and Isle of Wight. I think Christine, it may be that the Doming was an error on the registrars part there. Do you have a birth cert that gives her husbands name?

	Really. Strange. Herds of the Domineys roaming the right area of Poole - LOL - although it says she is married in the 1871 .........? 	No father mentioned on a birth cert would mean that Mum wasn't married ie Annie was a base child.
