If you have Church of Latter Day Saints (aka The Mormons) near you, you can order a microfilm of Parish Registers to view. For a small fee the film is available for a month but you have to visit them to order and pay in advance. You can then go back as many times as you need to view the film. The family search site mentioned above is run by them and will show you where the Churches are. I have found them invaluable. |

The IGI that Michael mentioned is free; also, some parish registers online - I shall nudge a thread about them for you. Also, there are the online parish clerks for certain counties - volunteers who do lookups for people - I shall nudge a thread about that, too. |

Is there any way of finding out who your ancestors are and the parents of those listen in the 1841 census without going to the area that they are from? |
