Im trying to find without success any documents which can verify a persons date of birth location etc. This was because of lies on the marriage certificate!! ive tried army records cheshire regiment etc etc but so far no success. Also still looking for dock labourer union records for liverpool c1914 which we know he would have been part of but tried without success to locate any.It looks so easy on the who do you think you are programme with registers etc being made available.Any help would be much gratefully received. |

He put 31 on marriage certificate in 1915 which would make birth 1883 1884 We guess its liverpool and there is one there but he is on 1901 census but nothing else.Wife put 31 on cert but was 37! Father he puts was john coleman. The reason we cant find anything he walked out one year after marriage |

thers several John or Jno Colemans born around that time that are from Ireland on the 1901 census.Having not married till he was in his thirties my guess would be he was Irish . |

thank you victoria and shirley owe you drink apiece for your efforts.John was married in st peters church liverpool but its funny because his grandson says theres is story of a catholic priest trying to get money from them and john bashed him up for taking it!! i checked newspapers from that time but nowt there. The john coleman who died in liverpool 1953 was 61 not 75 which leads me to think he lied because he would of only been 23 24 when getting married and she was 37.That john is probably one of the suspects as hes on 1901 census and father is john too. |
