Just received death certificate for Mary Ellen. She died in Whittingham Hospital, not Winwick, hence the reason she was registered in Preston. |

Hi just googled Winwick hospital and it says it was built in 1897 ten years later than your death occurred maybe this was another hospital and not the asylum |

I know Winwick is in Warrington area, but could she have lived in Preston, and just been in Winwick,as they are both at that time in Lancs, and could have been registered by a relative in Preston? |

Mary Ellen Redfern, born about 1853, supposedly died when she was 34 in Winwick Hospital. |

Help please. Does anyone know if a death, which occurred in Winwick Hospital about 1887, would be registered in Preston. |
