Hi Alice

Thanks for your reply:-)

I ahve looked at this one but discarded it as Samuel appears to be his younger brother, whilst his marriage certificate definately gives samuel as his father.

ps. I have a copy of my Gt Grandfathers birth certificate which gives his mother as Elizabeth Ellen Rogers (formerly Maskrey) and father as George Rogers, so I think I am correct with the marriage as above where they are Rogerson.

Georges occupation on this birth certificate is given as......."minder of self actors"!!!!!!!!

I am trying to track down George Rogers/Rodgers/Rogerson on the 1841 census and am having no luck at all:-(

I'm hoping that some one might be able to think outside the proverbial box and help me track him down.

I can find nothing for good old George before his marriage to one Elizabeth Maskrey on 27th January 1845 at Manchester Cathedral.
On the marriage certificate, he gives his name as George Rogerson, his father as Samuel Rogerson and his address as 31 Heywood Street, and finally his occupation as spinner.

I have found him on every cenusus after this, so it's just the 1841 I'm looking for to hopefully confirm his parents and perhaps other family members.

For reference, here he is on the 1851 Census
