The Lincolnshire Registration Service now offer the option of online certificate orders as well as telephone and postal applications.

Cost of a cert remains at £7 and payment can be made by credit card AND debit card.
Certificates are scanned copies of the original register and will therefore be copies of the documents your rellies signed or marked with a "x".

There isn't an online bmd index as yet although the separate North Lincolnshire Registration Service has just started to offer this service.

Glen, thanks for that information, I'm hoping they may have Harlaxton Records.

Hope you had a good Christmas, have you been to Lincoln lately? I visited in the summer, 4 great nieces this year!! They keep filling my tree up.

Regards Jennifer

Best bet re Harlaxton is to ring them, it is one of those "is it Lincolnshire or Leicestershire districts?" Slap bang in the wrong place LOL.

I got down Lincoln way a couple of weeks ago but the best "trip" was down to Northants about three weeks ago. I finally met a half sibling for the first time, 41 and a bit years of waiting finally ended up with me meeting a half sister in a layby (i was parked up in the truck lol).

Just discovered that a fourth cousin (Lincolnshire chap) was awarded the DSO and OBE and found heaps of burial details for the Canwick Road Cememteries. I think i need a couple of days to locate them all, at the last count there were over 50 plots to find.

Just another bump up the board.

Keith

Since i started using Lincoln i have ordered 50 certs. Having to work forwards on one family should mean another 20 plus (ten kids boen to one couple).

Just had a major breakthrough on another line and now find myself using Lancashire quite a bit too, heaven knows why one line went westwards but the water seemed to make them very fertile. lol.

I have found 90 related names from the '41 to 1901 census, i feel a few certs are needed to sort through the duplicate names but thankfully some names are on here,

Hi
I am a londoner living in Lincolnshire and I wondered if you knew that there is an excellent parish records
network on microfiche. I go to the lincoln archives all the time, but I also go to Scunthorpe Library where the whole of north lincolnshire parish records are on microfiche as well as other useful information.
I dont know where you are but contact me and I can look up for you. Finding a parish record may save you a certificate.
