I have my tree at home on PAF and find it perfectly adequate and easy to use.

Alan, do you mean a family tree programme or from GR?
If you want a free family tree programme, the Church of the Latter Days Saints do a free one, PAF, here :- www.familysearch.org, look on the first page and click to download. (I have not used it so cannot comment on it)

If you want to export your tree from GR, look at the bottom of the page, Import/Export GEDCOM. and follow the instructions, they will e-mail you the GEDCOM file.

Can anyone tell me the address of where I can download the software needed to create a Gedcom file?
Thanks
