Hi Heidi,

All my relations come from Scotland and i use this site: [email protected], i have found loads of relative's by using this site, the only thing is that you have to buy credits £6 for 30 credits, they charge 5 credits to view any certificate's but ut's well worth it in the end.
Good Luck
Lynne.

Heidi

If you try the scotfamtree site that Tiddly Bow mentioned above, they will do more recent Scottish lookups for you but you will need to pay a small fee. I believe they will be going again in January.

Reg.

The simple way to remember the Scotlands People parameters is the 100 years rule for births, 75 years for marriages and 50 years for deaths.

You cannot search online inside these time spans, from the present time back.

Heidi.

Try this site:

Scotlands People covers the following

Births 1855-1906
Marriages 1855-1931
Deaths 1855-1956

Heidi you have a few options

Speak to older living relations, they may have more info.
Visit the Records Office at Edinburgh where you will be able to find the info you need
Look out for someone visiting the Edinburgh Records Office, they usually ask if anyone needs a lookup. This will be on the Records Board.

There may be other ways that I don't know of.

I've had a PM from Heidi

The person she's looking for was born in 1921..........would this be on scotlandspeople?

I have never used the site, so don't know its parameters

Hello Heidi,

You already put this post on the Records Board and had two replies. You should only post a message on one board.
