Hi Bridget, what were the maiden names of the mothers on the certs? And what were the fathers occupations?

two certs this morning alfred my gramndfather born on the 22 april 1903 graet grandfather called richard great granmorther called theisa?

grandmother olive born 1 feb1907 great grnadfather caleed charles great grandmother called annie

If you order their birth certificates you will find out the names of their parents, the mother's maiden name, and where they were born.

This information can then let you or us search on the censuses and take the family back into the 19th century.

To order a certificate go to www.gro.gov.uk, click on Ordering Certificates Online in the box to the right of the screen, and follow instructions. They will ask you for the GRO reference number ... that is the set of two numbers to the right of W Bromwich.


Each certificate will cost you £7

You need to search the death indexes year by year. If you have no idea when these deaths took place, it could be a long search.

1984-2005 has been indexed but I can't see anything matching the above.

i dont know an awful lot about my fami;ly brought up in care found out this april my mothers fathers name and grandmothers name
