Answered my own question! City of Westminster Archives have references to the locations of all old workhouses and Birds Buildings was a workhouse. Thought so! |

yes -Google references pigeon poo problems in Finsbury mostly! I have tried doing an advanced search cutting out certain words but I suspect there must be a database somewhere of old buildings and that would probably be where the records would be kept |

Can we assume that you have googled and got no results? |

Does anyone know if I can find out about a building in FInsbury, London called Bird's Building? I suspect it was some sort of doss house but I may be wrong. I have a theory that the husband absconded and left his family in poverty but would like to know for sure. Any ideas? |
