Cannot any one recommend someone who will help trace a child that was put up for adoption in the 1970,s. My friend was forced by her father to give up her son as she was unmarried. She has tried contacting him through adoption agency but had no reply. NORCAP want £500 to trace him and she cannot afford that any suggestions please anyone??

There is a provision in the recent adoption law changes for people who cannot afford the charges that Adoption Support Agencies now charge.
Your friend should go to Social Services in her area and enquire how to apply.
I don't know if it's means tested.
Hope this helps.
Cheers Gerry

Have been in touch with Shazz and also the searcher, Glenys. The person being sought has been located on behalf of natural mother by Joan.
