And Ellener Bane (nee Card) is the mother of Emily Bane who married William Nicholas and is the mother of Herbert, who in 1901 is living next door with his great aunt Mary Ann Card. They probably couldn't work out the relationship and just put nephew. |

In 1881 she's a Card again with a Bane niece and nephew. She's living next door to a Bane family and next door but one to a Nicholas family. |

From above, could Ellener(Eleanor?) be Mary's sister and Herbert her great nephew? |

On the 1891 census the Nicholas family is living between the Bane family (presumably Amelia's parents) and Mary A. Chard, age 54, a dressmaker. Do you suppose she's Mary A. Card on the 1901 census? |

Avril already has the census for William from 1861-1901, I sent them to her last night. |
