Hello Paula |

I don't think its a misread of the name on the earlier censuses as i've looked at the actual censuses and the writing (for once) is quite clear on all of them and says Hannah |

I thought perhaps the couple Hannah is living with in 1841 were her grandparents so have looked throught the marriages of William Tailby (the name of father recorded on Catherine's marriage certificate) and have found the marriage of William Tailby to Hannah Hancock 2 Dec 1832 at St Margarets |

Still not solved the above but was looking through some details I had noted from the parish records about a year or so ago. |

typically that bit of the certificate is very very faint and difficult to read. It says something Lane |

Have you tried doing an address search from the address you got off the marriage certificate? |

What about this one |

Paula | Report | 27 Oct 2007 09:18 |
I've been through all the Tailby marriages 1841-1861 on ancestry freebmd (which i know isn't complete so i suppose i could have missed the correct one) to see if I can find a Catharine marrying a Tailby. |

Paula | Report | 27 Oct 2007 00:46 |
yes i've found william cave he is living with his parents at Duns Lane which is the address on marriage certificate. Her address is very faint and i can't read it, it possibly says Soar Lane so i will try and look for that |

Thanks Ivy but have had a look at that and the writing on the census is pretty clear so i don't think it has been mistranscribed. |

In 1871, 81 and 91, Catherine 's birthplace is given only as Leicestershire........it isn't until 1901 that Leicester is specified. |
