I know this sounds really stupid, but i have just joined anscestry, what am i doing wrong, why cant i find anything for someone born in 1932, in england ?

Ann, when you say "anything" for someone born 1932 - the last census available to us is 1901 so you wont find them anywhere on those records.

The only thing you may find on there just by entering the name and birth year is the persons death.

You have to work backwards to a time before 1901 - get the persons birth certificate for his parents and so on backwards.

Read the tips for newbies, Ill bump them up.
