understanding the 1841 census

It makes sense that he was a clerk, Scottish children were more likely to be educated than those in England & Wales. |

No it is "Cl" with the collator's mark crossed through it so it looks like "Ck". |

I haven't looked at the image, but if it looks like Cl, could it be Clerk (bearing in mind he was a book-keeper?) |

Maybe you can tell by the area they are in or look on other names they may have same occupations.. or search the 1851 see if that helps. |
