Hi Susan

I thought we'd ascertained that the marriage cert was the wrong one? What was William's occupation on Minnies birth cert?

Neither can I Rose, unless the accident was out of British waters?

(I must go to bed in a minute :-))

Rose, I think the William Green who Susan's got the marriage cert for is the wrong one - we need to know the occupation of the one on the birth cert of Minnie.

Well I know its a coincidence but in the Dover Express and also an account of the inquest as it appeared in the East Kent News for Friday 12th October 1906 .
"Terrible Boat Accident" Three Boatmen Drowned.
Henry Irons, William Cole, coxswain of the Dover Lifeboat, Green, the son-in-law of Irons and Fred Richards. There is about three pages of it.
Im getting more and more confused but its exciting!

Hi everyone,
The occupation of William Green on Minnie's birth cert is letter carrier and in the newspaper articles about his death it says william green was sometimes employed as a postman at the post office. He was formally a soldier, and served through the african war, known as soldier bill!.

Susan Report 23 Oct 2007 23:14

Well it certainly is a puzzle Angela, and most of the family were deceased or moved away before I was able to ask questions, but hopefully with all the help I have been getting we may be able to find out something? Regards to all. Sue

I guess we won't find him in 1901 if he was in the Boer War.

I'm sure the Louisa Pigne/Pigue is the correct marriage. All other transcribed instances of Pigue or Pigne on FreeBMD also have Pique on the same page.
