This is when I wish I could remember more or asked more when I was younger and they were alive.

I had hoped I could tie Nora in with my grandmother as I am sure that she's not connected via my granfather - he only had brothers and that surname was Gundy!

Maybe when I receive their marriage cert later this week it will help by showing her fathers christian name.

Might it be worth getting her death cert then? I think it should give the maiden name & should definitely say 'wife of .....' You could use that as a checking point.

I called him uncle, but think he must have been a great uncle or even great, great uncle. I'm not sure if he was my great uncle or my fathers!

I think Nora died about 1974 and have found a death that might fit around that time.
Nora Gladys Jones registered death in Leominster volume 29 page 0557 they have her dob as 11/08/1900 which might be right?

Dont think that this can be the right one on either account, as Bromyard is the other side of Hereford to where they lived in Monnington-on-Wye. I though they might have it registered in Hereford, Leominster, or Kington.

How close a relative was he? Is it feasible to get the death cert & hope the informant was someone you could contact for more info?

I have a rellie with the name of Tom Jones. I only know that he died in Herefordshire (possibly Leominster registered) about 1992-97 and that his late wife was called Nora. He was about 97 when he died.

How do I find their marriage with such a common name and then find her maiden name? If I search by surname I get PAGES for each quarter to search through!
