Deletions - how do you know?

The best thing is not to delete your nudges or other posts. I know it's annoying & adds to the length of the thread but at least the readers know what's going on.

If you have wrong information on the post instead of deleting just update.

I once asked for a post to be deleted by Gene's as it contained what the poster thought was an old man's phone number. The thread stayed but the post disappeared leaving no trace what so ever.

Julie, I noticed that but if you actually add your nudge and then allow it to go on the board then refresh before deleting it it does stay up the top.

I've had posts deleted by GR, and there's no evidence they were deleted!!
So I assume, when it gives a message it's the poster that has removed it.

Heather

Now when you nudge a thread and then delete it, it goes back you where you nudged it from

Eileen, I think in most cases the posts are deleted by the poster - usually when they have nudge up a thread but have nothing to add to it. Previously when we deleted nudges the post disappeared altogether - which was much more sensible.

Don't know about a post but do know if they delete a thread they don't automatically tell you ...If it your post you could get intouch with Genes and see what they say

When a message is deleted the caption appears saying that the message has been deleted by the poster or by 'genes'. it does not say which. If you have a post deleted by them, do they tell you it is going to be taken off, or do you just find out when you look for it? Also, do they tell you why they have taken it off.
