Just a thought, if they came from Co Tyrone to England, the most probable route would have been across the Irish sea to Scotland. Maybe they married in Scotland (no banns required) |

Thanks Summer Scribe, that's the only clue I have so far. I thought I'd double check with my Dad but he has no clue - in fact he went as far as to say that they may not have married at all! How do I get over that one when I'm trying to trace further back!! |

Never used Rootsweb for searching. Ancestry is the most convenient I find, at least for me, because if they're not yet transcribed you can still search the original images. |

I find that Ancestry very kindly double categorises it, so it should come up if you put cumbria or lancashire. As for boundaries... I'm clueless lol. |

There's a 1909 Dec Q James Brown marrying in Barrow (vol.8e p.1434), but the page has no females listed (probably mistranscribed). |

And some Barrovian's will still adamently tell you it's still lancashire *chuckles* my mum still maintains such a stance lol. |

This may seem an odd question but which county was Barrow-in-Furness in before the boundary changes? |
