I think I have found a relative whom is on a Census record. He was only 1 at the time, with his single mother both were living in a Workhouse and noted as "paupers". Has anyone got any idea how I would go about applying for a Birth Certificate. It states on the Census that he and his single mother were born in Stockton-on-Tees, so would I apply to the Register Office that covered that area? Also I have no knowledge of his father. Can anyone assist? |

You will need to locate the birth reference on Ancestry or another website and then send off for it. |
