I have my tree on Powerpoint and have 1 surname per page and could get 13 generations on but they depends if you put all your cousins on it. |

I also use XL spreadsheets for my trees using the alphabet. One letter for each page. Each A4 page containing up to three generations. The last cell farthest right indicates which page reference to go to next. The pages can get crowded as I also record Census Addresses (Green)and codes to indicate which person in the family was resident as well as Birth Marriage and death references(blue) |

I use Access more for my tree but found excel was great for doing a mini chart. I'm putting some information togther for my aunt and thought a tree showing just the direct line no cousins and this worked a treat |

Thanks I have found it now. Though I use Legacy for my own I think I will use excel for my godmother's much smaller tree. |
