Have never been able to find 3xG Grandmother on the 1851 census for Staffordshire. In 1843, aged 16, she had a love child who was bought up by her brother. Being anxious to trace her I have been sending for certificates, both marriage and death. For the marriage cert have used her Fathers name as the check, and for the death cert have used single as the check. Well my first death cert came today, for a widow. Have I got cause for complaint? Is widow same as single? |

Id have thought it you specified it to be 19 years old single girl then you could email or phone them for the usual reduction in cost if the pointers are not correct? |

I have mailed them, and I am having a reduction back. Girl I am looking for is ann phillips brn 1826 willehall reg dis. Wolverhampton Staffs. Only times I can find her are: her christening in 1828, as a servant in 1841, and at her sons birth at middle row wolverhampton in june 1843, and his christening at St Peters the Colliagate Church Wolverhampton the same year. I have to go to work now so will check later many thanks |
