Stephanie

It is thanks to that website that I know the old so and so married twice! I've followed both of his familes through on the censuses...

I know he didn't go to church with the rest of the family. Maybe his conscience was bothering him!

Hi Stephanie

How kind of you! I've hit a hard brick wall with my GGG Grandfather John James Macknelly b c1831 baptised 26.4.1831 (Stepney, London). Married 03.05.1852, St Thomas' Stepney to Ann Amelia Glasser. Does not appear on any census records at all. However, on the 1861 census Ann does but her status as wife is crossed through and replaced with head. On his sons marriage certificate in 1873 (also John James) he is entered as the grooms father and his occupation at that time was a Master Mariner. I've googled him to no avail and I am yet to find a death record for him? The surname changed/typing error at the registration of my grandfathers birth in 1914 from Macknelly to Mcnelly. Any suggestions would be welcome!

With best wishes
Tracy

Hi any chance of a look at the divorce index on Findmypast for Thomas Gayford Wigg and Sarah Ann Wigg. They were married in 1871 but by 1881 he was married to someone else. Sarah didn't die until about 1916 and I assume the second marriage was bigamous, but I would like to have all my bases covered before I tell his 92 year old grand daughter what a naughty boy he was!

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Stephanie, thanks for the offer of help. I have hit a brick wall and would really appreciate some help before I go completed bald.

I am looking for the death of my grand father - Thomas Henry Whatmore. I know he was born 16 Jan 1912 in Tipton (in County of Stafford back then), married in August 1935 but I can't find when he died. From what relatives have told me he died before 1959.

Thanks in advance of anything you can find on Findmypast BMD.

Stephanie, if you are a paid up member of Ancestry could you please tell me how I can get some members on there to remove some totally spurious information about my sister? Just for starters they have her b in Ireland (actually born in New Zealand, so the stork was a bit lost). But the worst thing is that they have her married to a man who was 204 years her senior, and with a daughter 180 yrs her senior.
The 2 people who I contacted say they have corrected or removed the information, but I can still see it there, and there are some other people with private trees who appear to have the same misinformation.
Is there some way I can get it all removed from their trees, including my sister (and my) parents, grandparents and gt grandparents? Or should I threaten to sue them for libel?
