I keep forgetting to switch IDs - for the purposes of 'A Sad Little Tale' I am Patricia. For those of you following the search for Patricia's living relatives will know that Patricia died tragically in 1943.

I will, soon, hopefully visit Newcastle - and feel the Newcastle vibe.

I do remember clackers hard orange plastic balls on a cord just as Kath describes.

I remember "clackers". Two hard plastic balls joined by string with a small piece of plastic in the middle of the string to hold. You had to try to get the balls to "clack" together up and down without hurting yourself - which you invariably did!!

According to the Royal Mail website there are still a lot of shops on Heaton Road today.

Number 170 is the Punjab Foodstore.

LOL - no, he died in 1986 so he may be in spirit!!

Do you know the area? in the 1970/80s would that have been a parade of shops?

That's what we thought - perhaps he ran a bicycle shop.

In the BT Phone books available on Ancestry there is a
Wilson, N.M, Cyc Agt, 170 Heaton Road, Newcastle.

Does anyone remember this area of Newcastle in the late 1970s/ early 1980s?

This is in connection with 'Patricia Armstrong - A Sad Little Tale'.
