Births have to be registered within 6 weeks now,but not so in the early 1900's. My mother was born Dec 1907 but not registered until March 1908. |

I would work on the assumption that the birth was registered late ... unless of course they had been living apart for some time and she had another man. Otherwise it would be a bit sudden wouldn't it? Be interesting to see if father's name appears on birth cert though. |

Well since I can't find him on the BMD (or can't find a match that seems close) I thought he may have died out of the country in the war. |
