Have been going through the search records section but it will only let me search each year once.
When the ' VIEW ' button is highlighted it wont let me go back in. does anyone else have this prob or is it my computer..

I see what you mean. If you back-page it does not let you try again. This does seem like a little bug and should be reported.

To workaround it, hit Refresh and it will then work for you.

Nope it wont let me. This is so frustrating! i'm trying to check out my grandfathers birth date. only first time i looked it said he wasn't born at that time but my nan insists he was born then and i cant get back on to see if i had missed him.

Sorry Maggie it came up with no Ronald Buckle born in 1923, but surely you have his birth date anyway, if you want to check other records you can use ancestry.co.uk and use the 14 day free trial, thats what I'm doing

There IS a Ronald Buckle birth registered in June quarter 1923 -
Ronald W L Buckle mother's maiden name Davis, Kensington 1a 215

OR he could have been registered up to 6 weeks after his birthdate which takes you into the next quarter: Could either of these be him in Sept quarter 1923?
Ronald J Buckle, mother's maiden name Tupper ,Steyning 2b 385
Ronald J Buckle, Sparkes, Lymington 2b 1058

Thank you very much Judith, it's the bottom one............ ronald j buckle, sparks was his mothers maiden name and he was born in lymington.

Adrian, I should think you were looking at the name searchable partial Freebmd section of ancestry - which is far from complete - it is great for older records and can be found on freebmd site but anything as late as 1924 wont have been transcribed by the volunteers yet.

To get the later date bmd you have to look at the complete bmd index on ancestry, going through the images quarter by quarter for the years you think the event occurred.

Why oh why wont it let me go back in.... i obviously missed it cos i went into his quarter and the one after.........i would love to check it for my self.

What i find funny is that judith found him in the next quarter. why was this surely he would be under the day he was born not the day he was registered. how would you know someones birth date for sure if we were all written in on the day we were registered. Hummmmm !!!!!!!

only way to get date of birth is to send for certificate

registration can be a month or so after birthdate.
