This would seem a likely birth:- Name: Fred Harrison Year of Registration: 1899 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun District: Foleshill County: Warwickshire Volume: 6d Page: 580 However I think Sharon would be best to get the marriage certificate first and then use the father's name as a reference checking point when ordering the birth certificate. Christine, On the marriage reference the groom's name is just Fred Harrison and not Frederick. Kath. x |

Hi Christine, You are right I think. The Zillah born in Durham would be the right age to be 44 at the death in 1945. (as it happens I, too was born in West Hartlepool). Kath. x |

Have replied to Sharon's pm where she gave Kenneth's birthplace as Foleshill, giving her the GRO reference for his birth certificate. Sharon, This appears to be your great grandparent's marriage:- Name: Zillah Clayton Year of Registration: 1920 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar Spouse's Surname: Harrison District: Foleshill County: Warwickshire Volume: 6d Page: 1017 If you order this certificate it will give you the father's names for both of your great grandparents and then you can look for them in the 1901 census. Do you know where your grandfather, Kenneth, was born? There are lots of Kenneth Harrisons born in 1927. Finding the right birth certificate would at least give you his mother's proper name. Kath. x |
