Hi Janice,dont want to put you to any trouble but would be great if you could..Do you remember me telling you that Leo who was born in 1919 went through all his life thinking he was Brierley and it only came to light when he went for his pension and needed his birth cert that his name was Mitchell and he was actually 2 yrs older than he thought.His daughter registered his death in both names in case any family was looking for him. With Harold being younger I would presume when it came for his pension then the same would have happened to him..Not unless he died during the 2nd world war.The last time he was seen was at Picadilly station in Manchester at the start of the war when Leo waved him off.. Herbert was too young for the war and his last whereabouts was at the Griffin pub in Leeds where he was a kitchen boy.Dont know what year that was though... Any help would be appreciated as you know. Hi Wanda Checked Find my Past for Deaths 1983 -2005 & 8 matches for Herbert Brierley, checked them all and no Birth Date Match. Checked all 18 matches for Harold Brierley and no Birth Date Match there either. So they either died before then or are still alive? Any chance that Harold could be under MITCHELL? There are 130 matches in 1983-2005 but not all are Just Harold, many have middle names. Should I check them in case he is under Mitchell? Janice xx

Cheers Lorraine..will have a look at that... Mad A..I dont have any idea on where they are only where they were born,so its all guesswork.... Port/Rose..Harolds birth name was Mitchell but he would have used the name of Brierley.His birth was the 9/7/1922 at 7 Back Lloyd St Manchester..Herberts was 30/3/1928 at 34 Greengate Salford....They were taken into care with the death of their mother in 1930...Harold went to Buckley Hall in Rochdale and Herbert to Our Ladys at Didsbury... Glitter/B Have looked at that before but with the birth date being wrong presumed whoever gave the info knew the right date... Janice/J...Here we go again...Having a rest from the other as got my knicks in a twist so thought I would see if any ideas on how to proceed with this as time is passing..Harold will now be 85 and Herbert 79 and if they are still alive and want to know then I dont want to waste any more time.... Hi Wanda Found you searching Brierley again, and the Dewsbury one is interesting as I mentioned this before. Let us refresh on this as we have discussed so many relatives I sometimes forget. Do remember the family of the same name though as I lived there as a child. Janice x

Hi Blind as a bat don't know if this is the sort of thing you are after or not, or if it would help, but here goes anyway. I noticed on a site called findmypast it says something about finding living relatives if you buy a subscription. Not sure what thats about but its worth looking into. Good Luck with your search. Can anyone please help me re my fathers 2 brothers. Harold Brierley born 1922 Herbert Brierley born 1928 Have been on Ancestry and as not listed as dead presume they could still be alive(I know records are a couple of years behind so they could have died in the meantime)..presuming they havnt where should I start to look? Have looked to see if their names are in any one elses trees..they are not...I have both their birth certs and Harold was born in Chorlton and Herbert in Salford.. Have placed ads in the Manchester evening news..... Basically has anyone else any ideas...Off to bed and hope someone can help.Had a long day at Manchester royal and need to get some sleep...Any ideas welcome..Nite and back after 9pm Wanda x
