thirza marriage to john spencer was nov 8 1868 at the parish chrch eckington

Hi Portland Rose I have a copy of a birth certificate for annie herrington spencer. Her name is given as annie herrington however fathers name is given as John SPencer which seems unuasul as Thirza was living with George when annie was bornin 1887 fathers occopation is given as pot Hawker which is what George did. forgive me if I take a while to reply I have not used these boards before

There is a marriage involving George Herrington in dec 1895 quarter in Worksop area (could be right for Eckington). two men and only one lady showing on page .... could Thurza be the missing lady? Jim

1891 census shows her as Widow and George as Widower

Are you sure John Spencer died? If not, she can't have married George. Rose

Hi trying to locate a marriage between Thirza Spencer(nee Lacey) and George Herrington . Thirza married a John Spencer on nov 8 at the parish church in Eckington Derbyshire. By the 1881 cencus she is no longer living with John but boarding with George Herrington. On the 1901 census Thirza appears as Thurza Herrington and all her children to George appear as Herringtons instead of Spencer so I persume they must of married sometime before 1901 . Also cannot find a death record for Thirza. Any help would be appriated. this is the first time I have ever used this board. so I hope Ive done it right. Thanks Karen
