Thanks for that MM. I think that Mary Greenhow is the most likely one, I'll check it out and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks again. Lin |

On the 1851 Census, Samuel is shown as Samuel G, age 8mos. This birth rgistration is on freebmd, which carries all the bmd from September 1837, and is FREE! It looks as though it could be your guy. Send off for the birth certificate and it will tell you both parent snames, mother's maiden name, occupation(s), where the baby was born, and where they lived. Go to www.gro.gov.uk, follow instructions for Ordering Certificates. Each one will cost £7 THEN you can start looking for the marriage certificate with some assurance of getting the correct one. Surname First name(s) District Vol Page -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Births Mar 1851 (>99%) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arnold Samuel George E London 2 242 Sylvia |

It's John Arnold 1827(c) he married Mary probably St Leonards Shoreditch although Mary was born in Kingston, Surrey so that is also a possibility. Children were Samuel 1850, John 1854 and Mary 1858, maybe others. Thanks M.M. |
