Once you have the birth cert.........if it gives her maiden name (it should) - or whatever name(s) are ascribed to her, come back and tell us, and we can start searching again. Good luck Reg

You'll have to work on this one step at a time.......finding her maiden surname is the first step.......... Reg

Found him - there's a note for page 2! He's George Allen, 30, a gunner with 'D' battery. Hilda was born in Dorset.

This is an unusual one for you. Don't know where to start. My gg grandmother we think was called Hester (don't know her maiden name) she married 3 times. We think the first marriage was to someone RISBY he went into the army and they both went to India. They had 7/8 children. not sure whether they were born uk or india. The story goes that they all caught some terrible disease and died all but hester and her son william. She came back to the uk then married someone HORTON (if it goes in that order-we think it does) not sure what happened to him. She then married someone ALLEN and they had Hilda Mable Lillian ALLEN B. c1890 and her sister Dorothy B. c1892. can somebody please help me or tell me where to start looking? thanks Penny
