Genealogy Chat

Hi Someone has very kindly opened their tree to me but I am unable to view it. When I try to open it, a message appears that I have my pop-ups are being blocked and if I click onto the coloured bar at the top of the page it will allow me to view. The only problem is, that I cannot see a bar. Can sks help. Regards Half Pint

it doesn't work for me either even when i disable my pop up blocker. But if you go into your tree, then over on the right hand side at the top it says your tree click on that and others you have access to show in a drop down box. click on the one you want and you can then view. Dont know what they have done but that seems to be the only way i can get to see other trees i have access to. Shirley

Hi Shirley Many thanks for your suggestion, it worked. I have come to the conclusion that genes only fix things if they aren't broken, and leave alone if they are (lol). Regards Half Pint

Do you have the Google Toolbar installed? That will block it too. You need to hold down the CTRL key as you click on View Tree. Rose

Thats just happened to me as well and her name wasn't in the list of names in the drop down box so I opened my tree and clicked on the tree in her message and then her tree opened, her name still isn't in my list of trees though?. Jenny

Hello out there, Am I the only only one who thinks that this is a subtle move for genes to introduce pop ups( an accepted way of introducing adverts).............Doug.

Pop-ups have a bad reputation as they have been used in the past for unwanted adverts, but they are increasingly becoming a feature of many websites design as well. The GR Tree has worked as a pop-up for the best part of twelve months, to my knowledge, so this is not something new.
