I would like somebody to point me in the right direction please, the above married a Barbara Florence (surname unknown) in New Zealand during the 2nd world war. I just can't seem to get a start anywhere on this search, any help would be gratefully received, thanks to all. I have found Barbara Florence Willavize death as 1987 in Staffordshire - can I work back from there? |

Do you want me to look up New Zealand marriages to find Barbaras maiden name? I wont be able to do it for at least 4 days, but possibly after that. Huia (in New Zealand) |

Hi Pat I've had a look from the point of view of possibles in England/Wales on Ancestry. Ancestry's English Willavise's in 1901 are all from Gloucestershire. However, Iorwath sounds Welsh to me. The only census where there are Willavise's in Wales is 1871 but these came from London (there is a Robert born Chelsea in 1834 and perhaps his father is another Robert born London 1809). However, looking at the FreeBMD births on Ancestry, there are Willavise's in Glamorgan from around 1911, so it may be that Welsh Willavise's for 1881, 1891 and 1901 were mistranscribed. You may be able to get info from members Alan and Keith who are researching Willavise's born in Newport up to 1917? |
