Have a look at the Guild of One-Name Studies website - if the surname you're searching for is registered with them then it's very likely that the member has loads of info. Also it's a condition of membership that you respond to all enquiries so you will get some help! Go to www.one-name.org and click on the online searchable database and if there's nothing this time check back again later, people keep joining! Good luck Sarah W
