Sally. If you've already had a reply, I apologies, if not the web site is www.familysearch.org. Click on search and enter whatever you know. Good luck. Carol. Your Grandfathers birth would probably be registered in his mothers name. If you have his birth cert. and there is nothing written re: an adoption on the right hand side as you look at it, he wasn't legally adopted. However, he may have been brougth up by a member of the family and taken their name. I would think, though that he would have to use his registered name for anything legal like a marriage etc. Hope this helps. Remember, our ancestors did some strange things in order to keep their secrets.
