I am positive the familysearch tip works - but alas my lot seem to have been a fickle crowd and visited the same church only once in their lifetimes, going to different ones for christenings and weddings etc. All over east London they went - but only once per church! uhho! stymied again. thanks anyway. and yes - will look into the death possibility.
