Hi all, I'm still a bit of a novice when it comes to family history so I would really be grateful for any help with my following query. I've got as far back as my great great grandfather in the Cook family tree and he was born at the turn of the 1800s. I'm keen to trace back further into the 1700s but this is obviously going to be harder because I'm having to rely on old church records for information. I did a search on the LDS site for my great great grandfather's birth details and I found one record that's certainly plausible (the birthplace is not a million miles away from where he lived for most of his life) but I can't be absolutely certain that these details correspond to my great great grandfather. So, my question is what other resources are there open to me, in order to ascertain whether the information from the LDS site does or does not correspond to my great great grandfather? I hope that made sense - I'm finding the pre-1837 searching to be a bit bewildering, at present! Thanks, Andy
