Christine the only other way is to try the various Parish records around Cork from 1833 to 1837 .In those days ,peoples ages were guessed at ,(more often than not ) so you might find something in the couple of years either side of his birth year 1835 (judged by him being 46 on the 1881 census) You may find this site a help .He seems to have gone into his history quite extensively and he does offer help if he is emailed http://members.tripod(.)com/~jbarry/barryfamily Take out the Brackets Jeff , Bristol x x
