Richard You can get the cert from the local register office for £7 if you have all the details. If not you need to apply to the Registrar General at Southport. I'll post the address later if you need if. The cert give father's name and profession but not mother's name. This is only on the birth cert and also shows her maiden name. Happy hunting. Lynne Sale
