I copied and sent the email too. Hope this will get the information released early. It is a good cause and as many people as possible should join in.

Presumably the idea of 100 years is that practically everybody featured will either be dead or seriously gaga when the information is released. I wonder what the thinking behind that is, when Electoral Roll is available up to date with basically the same information.

I checked out this site and read the relevent clauses, I have also copied and sent the e-mail listed. Maybe if a lot of us do this the census maybe released early.

I followed up a message regarding the above and found the web site by Denis McCready which I would like to pass on to all. More information and a detailed explanation can be found at - (http://home.clara.net/denis.mccready/) entitled '1911 census closure "just a way of saving money"' and also 'Census Bullshit for MPs, Parliament and Schools' (not my language) I was informed by email this morning (Tuesday 3rd) that there is also an update on the site 'HOW TO GAIN THE INTEREST OF THE HOUSE OF COMMONS COMMITTEE'. Well worth reading and deciding whether to join their campaign or not. Thanks to Stuart, William, Sheila for bringing this to the attention of everyone. Regards Vera, Manchester
