Likewise, I signed up here in the opening days of the site. I've been researching my tree for years although not continuously. It wasn't until recently (several months after joining) I was finally contacted by a distant cousin, naturally I was delighted and we exchanged information, then within that same week yet another distant cousin on another branch got in touch! The more information you put on the site, the more likely you are to be spotted by distant relatives. As I'd been doing this for a while I've got a large number of people in my tree, mostly well researched with dates and locations, that has probably helped. I'd recommend including details of your ancestors siblings and not just your immediate Granparents, Gt. Granparents etc It all helps relatives spot the common interests.

If you think it isn't working. When you are about to throw the whole thing in the bin. Stop. Read the Success Board. Absolutely fantastic to see so many people expressing their joy at what has happened to them. So it isn't happening at the moment with you. Don't give up. Remember, you've got to be in it to win it.
