Click on the links at the left side of the page this will take you to useful sites. BMD is Birth Marriages and Deaths. There are a lot of usefulsites out there- Free bmd on rootsweb, 1837 online, which charges a fee and can be difficult to search. If you are reading these boards you will come across LDS, IGI and family search a lot, these are all on one site run by the Mormons its free to use and has lots of info. If in doubt ask a lot of us check these boards everyday and were happy to help(It gives me something to do!!:))

As a very new explorer I flounder when reference is made by initial. BMD. etcI'm probably missing useful tips, how do I get to know what and where these sites/agencies are? Wendy
