Deleting duplicate wives problem

I have two identical wives for a husband, with a double set of identical children. I've tried everything to sort the mess out, but keep on being told I can't because they are linked to someone else. Any ideas? or will I have to delete the lot and start again? If we could unlink just part of a tree and delete that it would make things easier.

Sally Choose the duplicate wife you wish to delete, and delete her children first. You should then be able to delete her. Janet. Northamptonshire

I have the same problem, I have tried the above method but she just reappears!!Also I added a name and accidently put a capital letter in the middle and didn't notice.Every time I try an amend it it goes back to the original way I typed it.Even after I deleted the person and re-entered him.
