Another missing family on 1901 census

I can't find the Cook/e family, living in Lancs, father William is a collier, Ellen was his wife and they would have had at least one child , Mary Ellen b 1893 Wigan (possibly also a Katherine/Kate by then).Tried the usual methods inc wild cards. Help appreciated. Thanks. |

What is it with the 1901 census? I, too have relatives that've disappeared between 1891 and 1901. Have found husband/wife and son in 1891 but in 1901 when they should've been husband/wife/2 sons and daughter nothing. complete mystery but only started searching to-day so will keep trying Shelli |

Hi Deidre I have found a few William Cooks on the 1901 census, searching with keyword Lancashire. Many of which were coal miners or varying descriptions. If you download the 1901 census decoder you would be able to search on all names and pull them all together on a file to check of they were the correct names. Regards Maxine |
