Dear Julie, Don't know if it will do you any good on that side of the pond but have a look at the Indiaman Magazine. WWW.indiaman.com. I think there are also some tips via The British Library but try the mag first as I know they do searches though a bit expensive if not a subscriber. Best of luck, Andrew.

Hi, looking for any help please. My grandfather was apparantly born in Feb 1908 in India, but I cannot seem to find any way of confirming this. I've tried the usual websites and come up with nothing. I do not know when his parents emigrated or when they returned to England (as he lived in England for some years before he died). Does anybody know of any websites (as I'm based in the US) where I could trace his birth? Thank you!
