Dear Jane, If you know the area in which your ancestors arose,go to Google, key-in the name of the town, village or estate, plus the county and you will probably find enough info to help you on your way. Before I had my computer at Christmas and going on to the Internet in April,I and my cousins tried every which way to find the Hawarden Estate in Co. Tipperary. It was so simple with Google I thought I had found it by a divine miracle! Best of luck, and let us know how you get on. Sincerely Pearl Harries

I had an email today informing me that there a couple of new websites dealing with ancestors in Ireland. One of them has the Griffiths valuation on line - this is a pay to view site and I have not checked it out yet ( as I checked my ancestors in Griffiths in Dublin) but it may be useful to some of you - the links are www(dot)irishorigins(dot)com and www(dot)eneclann(dot)ie. good luck in your research.
