Hallo. I have found the family I am looking for on the 1901. Dad, Mum, 2 children. I can find the births of mum and dad, he in 1865, Clerkenwell, she in 1873, Bristol. I can find their marriage, 1894 Islington, and the birth of the younger of the children in 1899 in Bermondsey. I cannot find the birth of the older child who was 10 at the time of the 1901, and born in Cardiff. I think I have found his mother on the 1891-as a servant in Cardiff - which puts her in the right place - maybe the child was born just after the census was taken in 1891. I cannot find him born with her surname, or the name of the man she married in 1897 - so I think I am firmly stuck! It doesn't seem feasible or possible to search for every Frederick born in Cardiff in 1891 on the offchance of getting the right one! I have also looked for an earlier marriage for the Head - so far without success - but as Wife was in Cardiff at about the right time her being his mother does seem most likely - but I have learnt the lesson re ASSUME! Can anyone guide me with resolving this, please? Rosi. Colchester ESS

Have searched from 1911 - 1917 so far- no marriage yet - always assuming that he married under the name of Kearns - if he married. Ama bit less hopeful now! Rosi
