John William Bromley born 1883 in Grimsby Lincolnshire was the son of James and Mary Ann Bromley. He had 7 brothers and sisters. His birth is as follows: District: Caister Quarter: June Volume: 7a Page: 680 I have more information on his family in the 1891 census if you want it. Regards Gary

Thanks everyone for all your encouragement here goes and this is all I have his name was John William Bromley(serjeant) 14th Bn yorks and Lancaster Regiment he was born 1883 died on monday 17th July 1916 france. Left his wife Alice Macey nee Crowson (louth lincolnshire) and one son James Henry DoB1910he he was born in Nottingham/Cleethorpes/Grimsby. I don't know who is parents were and can't find records of him or alice except that alice died in 1918 in the flu epademic in Louth.and thats were I'm stuck folks.if you can help I would be most gratefull. I think you are very wise! I've been in that situation many times and it's funny how our lost relatives sort of creep up on us (metaphorically speaking or course!) when we least expect it , I've found several when I've been looking for someone else! Regards Maxine

Hi Don't Give Up, It took me months to find to where my great great grandmother was in 1891, they were'nt at any address that I had for them. An SKS eventually found them for me living in Haughton, Lancs. George

I would like to thank everyone for their kind offers of help. But so far everything I have tried to trace my Great Grandfather has led me to that famous brick wall so for now I will try some of the other members of the tree.and maybe come back to him. Thanks again to you all for your kindness. Sue
