It is roughly in the centre of the map at <http://> <www.> <yourmapsonline.> <org.> <uk/> <Bolton_1920_sse.jpg> Sorry for the format but Genes Connected corrupts URL's http://www.yourmapsonline.org.uk/Bolton_1920_sse.jpg Martin Ooops perhaps they have stopped corrupting URL's as that looks OK |

Christa and Martin, Thank you both so much for your quick responses. Both your information has confirmed that i was certainly looking in the right area. Lever Street is on the map I have, and "Multimap" confrims that Snipe Street it just off Lever Street. Unfortunately, it looks like the map I have for 1894, cuts off Bull Lane, at the exact point it should be! Typical. I'll just have to try and get another. Anyway, a least i was heading in the right direction. Once again thanks both of you for your help. Lindsay. |

Lindsay, More info. Snipe St still exists today. Go to www.multimap(.)com and type in the postcode BL3 6NJ to see the area. Crista |

I found a name in Bull Lane in the 1881 Census then switched to "Neighbours". Immediately before Bull Lane is Nine House Street. Immediately after Bull Lane is 195 Lever Street. Bull Lane is numbered up to 89. Martin |

Lindsay, http://www.bolton.org.uk/oldbolton.html There is a picture of Bull Lane and it was near Rebate and Snipe Streets. There was a mill nearby. Crista |

Hi, I'm trying to locate the whereabouts of Bull Lane in Bolton. My great grandparents lived here between 1920-48. I've looked on the "old-maps" website and it is not listed, so i guess its since been demolished. However i would still like to know where it was. A clue i have is that it may be near Fletcher Street in Bolton, as they married at the local church, St. Marks, also since demolished, and there other address, which i have found is also in this area. I've tryed everything i can think of, even down to looking at all my maps with a magnifying glass!. Hope this makes sense. Any help would be gratefully received, Thanks, Lindsay, Bolton, Lancs. |
